This Ergon Jazz guitar from 2019 was commissioned by a private guitar collector from the talented guitar maker Adriano Sergio from Lisboa on special request.

It consists of a very old solid mahogany body, a neck made of the finest old cedro and a solid centimeter-thick painterly obverse in ancient, rare Tamo Ash. And due to the hollow body construction this guitar weighs only 2.6 kilograms!

Tamo Ash is a specific term that describes the impressive three-dimensional figure that can appear very rarely in some trees of “Fraxinus mandshurica”, also called Japanese Ash. The figure is quilt-like, sometimes swirling, and often appears like scattered peanuts on a shiny brown background. She is never boring and unique in her appearance. Tamo Ash comes from trees that grew in Japan, especially on the island of Hokkaido. The Tamo Ash is solid wood, not veneer. This rare wood comes from the estate of the late Swiss guitar builder Rolf Spuler, who passed away much too early in 2014.

This Ergon guitar was designed in the shape of the Paradis-guitars Rolf Spuler made. Adriano Sergio dedicated this guitar with the special signature R.S.P. (Rolf Spuler Paradis). The three-dimensional view of the wood was emphasized by Adriano Sergio with fine gold dust.

The guitar is finished in Rubio Monocoat oil and wax. The special Tailpiece out of a Laser-Cut Cymbal Drum from the Cymbal-Company gives the Ergon guitar an outstanding fine resonance. It also features a custom humbucker pickup from Häussel, Germany, and this can be adjusted via a volume and tone control.

This is a guitar that blurs the line between art and instrument, and has therefore never been used on a stage. The guitar comes in a deluxe leather Artur Benedykt case, including a matching Ergon leather strap from the company Richter.
