Guild Starfire V 1965

With its dual humbuckers and Bigsby vibrato, the Starfire V was Guild's answer to the Gibson ES-335, offering a serious alternative for guitarists seeking that characteristic semi-hollow sound with a distinctive character. Guild introduced the Starfire series in 1960, filling a gap in their catalog for electric guitars with both hollow and semi-hollow construction. The Starfire V features a laminated maple body with a center block and luxurious details such as cream binding and pearloid block inlays on the rosewood fingerboard. The three-piece mahogany/maple neck has a comfortable C-profile that makes it pleasant to play, while the 24.75" scale length gives the guitar a familiar feel. 

This 1965 Starfire V is an exceptionally clean example that has been treated with respect over the years. The guitar is completely original, except for a refret and a raised nut, including the Guild Anti-Hum pickups that give the guitar its characteristic warm and full tone. The CTS potentiometers are coded 13765xx and confirm the originality of the electronics.
