The Golden Eagle has been at the absolute top of the Heritage range since its inception, and this 1992 Almond Burst version perfectly demonstrates why the model has built such a special reputation among jazz guitarists!

The model was developed as an uncompromising jazz guitar, built in the traditions of the great American archtops of the 1950s and 60s.

With its large body, elegant lines, and luxurious finish, the Golden Eagle exudes pure class.

The story of Heritage begins in 1985, when a group of experienced guitar builders decided to stay behind at the historic factory at 225 Parsons Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After Gibson moved production to Nashville, these craftsmen continued their work under the name Heritage. In doing so, they continued to use many of the same machines, techniques, and craftsmanship methods that had been refined over decades in the famous factory.

The Golden Eagle is perhaps the finest example of the brand's philosophy. The fully hollow construction delivers a rich, warm tone with impressive acoustic projection, while the carefully tuned body ensures clear articulation and an exceptional dynamic range. Chords sound full and defined, while individual notes cut effortlessly through an ensemble.

The guitar has various superficial signs of wear on the top, back, and neck, yet remains remarkably clean considering its age. The pickup is a Kent Armstrong PAF, and the potentiometer wiring has been resoldered for a secure connection. The guitar still has its original frets. Thanks to the stylish Almond Burst finish, refined details, and high-quality build, this 1992 Heritage Golden Eagle is an instrument that ranks among the absolute pinnacle of the American archtop tradition, both visually and musically!
