With its stunning combination of Brazilian rosewood and Alpine spruce, this Lowden S50J is as impressive to play as it is to behold.

The guitars in Lowden’s 50 Series can be seen as the company’s equivalent of a Custom Shop line, built using only the finest Master Grade tonewoods selected for both their tonal qualities and visual beauty. This particular guitar features a body crafted from Brazilian rosewood paired with an Alpine spruce top. In fact, this S50J is the only nylon-string model from Lowden’s Jazz Series to feature a Brazilian rosewood full body.

Lowden’s unique crossover nylon Jazz model stands out through its combination of premium tonewoods, exceptional craftsmanship and a crossover design that feels equally at home to flattop, electric and classical players. Plugged in, the guitar performs just as convincingly thanks to its Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup system.

The five-piece neck is constructed from mahogany, purpleheart and rosewood, topped with an ebony fingerboard. Combined with the comfortable GL Jazz neck profile, the guitar offers an effortless playing experience for both classical and steel-string acoustic players alike. This makes the Lowden S50J not only a visually stunning instrument, but an inspiring one to play as well.

This 2017 Lowden S50J comes from a private collection and has never been used on stage. The guitar shows only the slightest traces of playwear on the back of the body, along with a single superficial mark on the pickguard. There are also a few extremely light marks on the headstock, but overall the guitar is virtually indistinguishable from a new example. It comes with CITES documentation in a Hiscox case.
