This 1979 Martin D35 is a beautiful vintage guitar, and possesses the sound that makes Martin so beloved among guitarists: warm, full, and defined with more than enough volume.

The D35 originated in 1965, when Martin swapped the two-piece back for a three-piece one due to the small size of the available Brazilian rosewood parts. Equipped with this striking feature, the D35 found a place between the iconic D28 and the more decorated guitars such as the D41 and D45.

The bracing of the top was significantly lighter, 20% lighter than that of a D28, making the D35 the dreadnought with the most bass response at the time. These guitars were designed for a big, warm sound and immediately found their way to many dreadnought players. Within a few years of its introduction, production numbers approached those of the D28, and by the mid-1970s, the Martin D35 was even the company's best-selling instrument.

The guitar also shows signs of wear and dings on the top, body, and neck, along with some checking in the finish in various places. Besides a refret the nut has been raised, the bridge saddle has been replaced, and one bridge pin has been replaced. Otherwise, the guitar looks particularly neat and is a great opportunity for the guitarist looking to expand their collection with a great vintage guitar in its original case!
