This Wandre Tri Lam is a fascinating piece of Italian guitar history! With its striking design elements this instrument completely deviates from the beaten path, both visually and sonically.

A true eye-catcher that perfectly captures the experimental spirit of Antonio Wandre Pioli!

Antonio Wandre Pioli was one of the most experimental guitar makers of his time. He was based in Cavriago, Italy, and was active from 1957 to 1968. Wandre guitars were known for their radical design choices and unconventional use of materials, with Pioli ignoring any tradition. The aluminum neck was one of his most striking innovations, a material that was completely revolutionary in guitar making at the time. The Tri Lam models were among his early designs and are now extremely rare.

The combination of the aluminum neck and laminated poplar body creates a unique tonal character found nowhere else. The aluminum construction delivers a clear, defined tone with exceptional sustain, while the hollow body adds warmth and resonance. Its light weight of just 2,18 kg makes this guitar surprisingly comfortable to play. The single pickup delivers a distinct and subtle tone that perfectly complements the instrument's artistic character.

The guitar is equipped with its original Davoli pickup which has been rewound, along with a more recently added volume control and output jack. The frets have been leveled in the past and has some playwear on the body, neck, and hardware. The plastic top plate also has a few small repaired cracks, and a piece of plastic running across the strings is missing from the bridge. The bridge saddles and nut are replaced, but otherwise the guitar is completely intact and plays well.
